Religions, routines, and systems of thought; ways to survive and find meaning. But what happens when these systems, which were supposed to support us, take over and start to control us?
Entangled is a dance piece based on the personal experience of the author and
performer, Juliette Louste, with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). After a
childhood trauma, she developed strict and inflexible systems to cope with the world, a world that neither understood her nor saw the violence she was subjected to. These systems were her defense. Gradually, they took over and the defense became an overwhelming burden on her shoulders.
In the piece, Juliette explores how one can dance with the shadows, the chaos and the entanglement — with support, awareness and unwavering perseverance.
Entangled invites the audience to experience the unfolding of the inner landscape of obsession.
